The Oxford Gargoyles – Oxford University’s jazz a cappella ensemble – is the second group of Voice Festival UK winners to be successfully funded on FringeBacker, the first being All the King’s Men of King’s College London. From meeting Hong Kong’s last governor, Chris Patten, at the Oxford Alumni Weekend to an enthralling performance at the Cathay Pacific/ HSBC Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, the Gargoyles have received support from music-loving patrons who pledged HK$40,475 (US$5,262) towards their debut tour in Hong Kong and Macau.

Think Series Leadership Programme, along with Hong Kong Trade Development Council, FringeBacker, and other partners challenged 19 talented student inventors to develop innovative electronic products. Their successfully developed prototype, ranging from Autolock Techolock, Hi-Tech 3D Lights, Dozeno Wake Up Band to RFID S-Band, were promoted to the discerning international buyers at the HKTDC's Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition 2014) from April 13 – 16, 2014. The teams also met with backers from their successfully crowdfunding campaign on FringeBacker, without whom this experience would not have been possible!

FringeBacker, together with 30 international consulates and guests, was delighted to attend the UNESCO Hong Kong "Peacemakers' Celebration" in support of its "Peace for All" Youth Programme, which aims to strengthen local peace efforts through better understanding of cultural diversity and tolerance of cultural differences.
